Super Mario Bros. 3 (Japan 1988 Set B)
Released in 1988, this series of kinkeshi was to take advantage of the super popular Super Mario Bros. 3 craze sweeping the world. Featuring characters from Super Mario Bros 3 such as all the Koopa Kids and all of Mario's new power up ablitiies and suits, this set had a lot of interesting molds. A odd note is that the Princess Toadstool / Peach in this series is actually a downsized version of the North American release of Princess Toadstool created by Applause... I don't know the connection. This line also had characters that had seperate accessories wands to hold (namely the Koopa kids) and thus were lost easily (I personally only have Lemmy's wand -_- ). The Super Mario Bros 3. series of figures had a bit of a tricky identification problem, they also have the Set B "B." on the back, but the way to tell if they are from this line is that the plastic of the figures were very strong and hard unlike the previous Set B which was more rubber and like a eraser. All molds again had the traditional colors of any kinkenshi line (Red, Yellow, Green, Flesh and Blue. Oddly no Dark Red has been seen) There was no vending machine chase figure this time around in the line either. This series is common to find and has a large assortment of molds. Here is what we have

As you can see the Princess mold was a downsized version of the 1986 Applause figure
